What are draw latches?

A draw latch (or toggle latch) is a simple way to fasten doors, hatches, or panels. It has two parts:

A hook or loop on one side.

A catch on the other side.

You pull it to close, pressing surfaces together. Most have a spring-loaded lever—flip it to lock or unlock. Once closed, it stays shut.
